Jaywalker U students are taking one day at a time, a skill they learned in treatment. But now that they have amassed months of living a day at a time, they are also looking toward a future that is much brighter than the future of their past. Each new student who enters into Jaywalker U reflects on what they want their future to look like in recovery, their relationships, educationally, socially, and professionally. Based on these visions, the students will set daily, short-term goals that help them achieve their long-term goals. In order to make their future goals a reality, we use S.M.A.R.T. goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic/Relevant, and Timely. By making S.M.A.R.T. goals, our students are able to monitor their daily accomplishments that lead to future success.
Smart guys, S.M.A.R.T. goals!!
