Jaywalker would like to congratulate one of its own, Kjell D, for graduating college this last semester. Kjell went through Jaywalker over 5 years ago and since then has been on a mission. Since graduating the Lodge, Kjell starting working at the Lodge as an overnight tech. When the time was right he moved back home to attend St. Olaf College in Minnesota and work at another treatment center as an overnight tech. This time in college was a little bit different than the last. Not only did he attend college sober, but he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He wanted to do exactly what it was that saved his life, and that was the counseling that he got in treatment. So that’s exactly what he did. After graduating from St. Olaf College, Kjell has now enrolled at Hazelden’s Master Program in Minnesota to receive his master’s degree in addiction counseling which starts this April. When asked how all of this was possible Kjell responded with, “Jaywalker saved my life and without it none of this would have been possible.” Kjell has been an inspiration to us all and is living proof that anything is possible. Thank you Kjell and good luck with the Master’s Degree.
